Calling All Hands
Our Volunteers To Plant Six Million Trees Worldwide
“Throughout her life, Amma has expressed deep concern for the environment. She has publicly called on all of her admirers to take concrete steps toward the restoration of nature’s delicate balance. As a member organization of the UN Billion Tree Campaign, our volunteers have already planted more than a million trees worldwide.
In September 2013, we launched a major expansion of our tree planting program – our new goal is to plant six million trees worldwide. We’re hitting the ground running with a program to plant 600,000 trees across Amma’s home state of Kerala in the coming year. The saplings will be provided by the state of Kerala’s Forest Department, and planted by our volunteers.”
